Freedom of Choice
Increasingly the hearing sector is vertically integrated. That is, the retail dispenser is owned by a large international hearing aid manufacturer (such as Connect Hearing being owned by the Sonova Group, AudioClinic and Hearing Life by the William Demant Group, Bloom by Widex and so on) who predominantly sell only their own brand of aids. This creates a situation where promoting the parent brand may become more important than individual needs. It also means that typically, clinicians working in vertically integrated environments are not aware of the full range of products in the market place which may be of benefit to their clients. Vertical Integration as also lead to less competition and higher prices as larger hearing providers dominate the market. As an independent provider, our Audiologist have greater choice, flexibility and hearing aid knowledge which results in better results and value for our clients. At Affordable Hearing we will find the product and brand most suitable to your hearing needs, lifestyle & budget!
No expense has been spared in the purchasing of the most advanced and up to date technology for our testing. Further to this we only support brands and products with a proven track record in their respective industries. Our job is not to sell you a hearing aid like many other companies do but to accurately test your hearing and evaluate your lifestyle and to support your choice in the best hearing solution for your hearing needs, lifestyle & budget!
We are not owned by a Third Party
Our referral sources do not have any financial interests in our business. A significant number of hearing aid clinics are fully or partially owned by Ear Nose and Throat Specialists (ENTs) and other professionals such as solicitors & accountants. Invested referring bodies only refer to these clinics where they have a financial interest. Our referral sources assess us entirely on our expertise and experience.
Would you go to a financial adviser referred by the bank, if you knew they were owned by the referring bank? We believe in 100% financial disclosure in such setups.
Without third party interests and shareholders we are able to offer independent advice and the very best hearing aids at affordable prices!
Affordable Hearing does not pay it’s staff commission on hearing aid sales, so level of technology is decided by our client’s needs, lifestyle & budget.
Disclosure of Commercial Interests
Affordable Hearing believes in transparency and disclosure of interests to our clients. Accordingly we advise that we have discount arrangements (which allow us to provide affordable prices to you) with the following companies, Unitron, Phonak, Starkey, Sonic Innovations, GN Resound, Oticon, Bernafon, Widex, and Siemens. Affordable Hearing staff & management also participate in educational evenings which feature new technology and products, as guests of these companies.
