How do I apply for a government hearing services voucher?
In Australia, if you are the recipient of an aged or veterans pension you may be eligible for free hearing services & hearing aids. To apply for a voucher simply fill out this form, then have your GP sign where indicated.
Once this is done contact one of our branches and make an appointment. We can complete the application process through the Office of Hearing Services online portal. If you need more information please contact us on 1300 658 742 or see http://www.hearingservices.gov.au/
What type of hearing aid does Affordable Hearing provide for voucher holders?
Voucher holders are entitled to free hearing aids. This level of technology is prescribed by the Office of Hearing Services program. The free hearing aids are a quality product which will provide the wearer with hearing assistance in a range of listening environments.
These hearing aids will generally be digital and basic style with programs and volume etc having to be manipulated by tiny controls on the actual hearing aids. Some voucher holders however will choose to ‘top up’ and pay an additional sum for hearing aids with additional features such as remote controls, better sound in noisy environments & more discreet styles.
As an independent provider, Audiologists at Affordable Hearing have greater choice, flexibility and hearing aid knowledge which results in better results and value for our clients. At Affordable Hearing we will find the product and brand most suitable to your hearing needs, lifestyle & budget!
What will I have to pay?
Once fitted with hearing aids, Affordable Hearing clients pay nothing extra! To our knowledge we are the only provider which does not pass the Government’s annual Hearing Services Charge (HSC – which covers batteries, appointments, and repairs) on to clients, saving you up to $50 each year!
